I went on this ride for the first time today and did not really know what to expect. For the most part I was alone except for Sue who came all the way from Blue Springs, Kansas to do this ride. I did the short route to Small's Fruit Farm and back. The wind was difficult going out and I almost quit and came back after going 5 miles, but Sue encouraged me and I made it. That steep hill at Small's Fruit Farm required me to use my lowest gear because I was so tired by then. The ride back was easy but I was too tired to enjoy that part of it. I brought water and used it all and could have used the H2O that was promised as part of SAG support but did not seem to exist anywhere I could see. I did enjoy the apple pie. It was chilly and I did not really enjoy the ride as much as others I have done. I am tired and recovering at home.
